My Heart Is Growing Out Of My Ribcage

First piece of 2026:

I feel like last year for me personally was filled with a lot of trials and tribulations that really weighed heavy on my heart and in turn gave me a lot of different perspective about my mental health. This year I really want things to be different and I’ve always thought of trauma, endured pain, and most important: survival, when I think of Purple Hearts.

Sometimes I think that my heart is too big for my lungs in terms of that specific muscle continuously growing and evolving, that it feels like it’s quite literally bursting through my rib cage 🩻

So I decided to make this piece as a small tribute to myself for all of last year and bringing more hopeful and present moments for the next year of 2026

This rib cage is made of lotus white and royal jelly 💜
